About Joni...

Hello and thank you for visiting my website. My love for photography has stemmed far back into my childhood. I remember getting in trouble because I shot and entire roll of film on the family dog. How can you resist a cock-a-poo in a tutu? Anyway, now I am a wife and mother of two children. I discovered my true love of photography when I captured images of my children as newborns. I knew then that this was a lifelong love, my children as well as capturing their soul on film. I can't express how much I cherish those images of them when they were just hours and days old. They remain a very large part of my inspiration.

I truly believe there is so much more to a photograph than just standard portraiture. Children have a 1,000 stories to tell, and I love to try to capture that story...capture their personality...capture their silliness...capture their happy moments as well as sad ones. I work hard in every session to catch the character of the family unit, as well as the individuals within. I love getting expressions that you can't help but love, because you know that his how you child is. I love getting that one second of attitude, because you know that is true as well. I love getting the giggles, smiles, monkey faces, and the occasional temper tantrum.

My style is simple, but timeless. Beautiful. Real.
